Drabble Dogpile "Sick" prompt

"'M sick," Chase gave a demure little cough.

"No, you're not," Foreman diagnosed without looking up from the crisp folds of his shirt, which he continued to button (upward, entirely the wrong direction, in Chase's opinion.)

"I am."

"You're not."

"Come back to bed and make sure." Chase lounged seductively back on the pillows. His efforts were wasted, because the only thing Foreman was being seduced by was his collection of paisley ties.

"Either you're sick, in which case I don't want to get close and catch it, or you're not, in which case you can get your ass out of bed."

"Or...there's a third option. I've contracted something weird, not contagious, and very sexy."

At that, Foreman finally turned around and gifted Chase with about 10% of a smile. "I don't believe I'm familiar with that particular disease."

"It's brand new! And you know, people say if you discover something, you get to name it."

Foreman began to undo his freshly knotted double Windsor with a smirk. "Well, for the sake of my illustrious career...I'd better come back to bed."

I am putting together a big House MD fandom bash! There will be something for everyone. Have an idea you’d love to see but it’s not here? Drop me a line.

Here are the activities I’ve planned so far:

Gift exchange. Final check-in on 11/9! Please reach out if you need an extension, or if there’s a chance you won’t finish by 11/16. Find the full schedule and details here. Here is the ao3 collection, which you can post to any time up until 11/16, and will go live on the big day.

Prompt Claim. There will be a list of prompts, posted to this tumblr page, with a signup form. 300 words for fics. Each one will be claimable by one writer/artist/etc. Get your engines running with a short fanwork!

Drabble-Doodle Dogpile. One prompt per day leading up to the anniversary (11/10-11/16). 100 words for fics. The prompts will be posted on this Tumblr account. Dogpile on each prompt! Enjoy your friends’ versions. Let’s revel in different interpretations.

Livestream. Starting on 11/16 and continuing for eight days, @malcolm-f-tucker will be streaming 3-4 episodes from each season. And YOU get to select one per season, so keep your eyes peeled for the relevant polls!

Wilson slung the beer bottle over House's shoulder for him to grab with the ease of years. "She asked if you cared about me."

"Considering she isn't actually your cousin, that's a weird thing for a dying girl to be invested in. Her doctor's personal life."

"In addition to the tapeworms you found, she also suffers from empathy, which has no known cure."

"And God knows, I've tried." House craned his neck to observe Wilson's slow, instinctive tidying circuit of their living room, and hiked his feet more comfortably up on the coffee table. "So, what did you tell her?"

"The truth. You do care about me."

"What evidence do you base that claim on?"

"Her." Wilson swept away a pile of crumbs House had thoughtfully left behind for him on the piano top at breakfast. "You took the case."

"I took the case because otherwise I'd never hear the end of it at home. Not to mention my ass on tap would dry up." House tried to smack the ass of the hour, but it was out of reach. Wilson remedied that.

Wilson smiled, hopped onto the couch, and threw his legs over House's lap and his arms around House's neck. "House, sometimes you're so romantic, I could just kill you."

"Kiss me?"

"No, I had it right the first time."

Wilson pulled House in and kissed him hard, twisting lips and darting tongue and teeth grazing as they parted for breath.

"I do care," House muttered, eyes hazy and voice dazed.

"I know. You tell me every day."

"Do not!" House protested this malignment of his character.

"With your actions."

"Stealing your socks and eating your lunches and terrorizing your nurses?"

Wilson exhaled on a smile and let their foreheads gently meet and rest against each other. "And so much more."

House doesn’t do flowers. Instead, he gives Wilson a diagnosis like its a gift. Every time Wilson gets a headache, House will run through a list of possible life-threatening diseases just to ‘show he cares.’
